Job Description Summary This role as an Advanced Lead Engineer - Reliability will report into the Product Safety team. The primary responsibility will be to provide experienced guidance and analysis of new avionics hardware designs during the development process. You contributions will help to improve the reliability performance of our products as well as work with Product Safety to ensure that the reliability performance of GE products also supports safety.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Focus on the dependability in the lifecycle management of a product. Identify and assess the ability of the system or component to function under stated conditions for a specified time or interval of time. Rolls up the individual reliability to the system level, including systems modeling. Includes estimation, prevention modeling and management of high levels of \"lifetime\" engineering uncertainty and risks of failure
  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses experience/judgment to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.


Required Qualifications
  • For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).


Desired Characteristics
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
  • Previous experience supporting the reliability analyses and test of avionics products in the commercial and/or military aviation industry.
