Working Student: Flight Simulator setup and support (m/f/d)

Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
In your role you will:
- Understand the functionality and structure of the simulator
- Be involved in preparing the facility space and physical setup of components
- Source material focusing on cost out and making use of local suppliers
- Work with an expert team in the UK to set up and commission the simulator
- Local Integration of simulation hardware, like flight controls and avionics, and the application of software and tools
- Demonstrate the simulator's basic functionality and take ownership of software updates, maintenance and alike
- Support and ensure the operation of the simulator and troubleshoot any problems
- Assist GE experts in work related to the use of the simulator
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Student of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, , computer sciences, mechatronics or similar
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Profound knowledge of LINUX and network-based system infrastructures
- Experience in integrating electronic hardware and software
- Self-motivated, structured work style and good communication skills
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience in using CAD tools focusing on mechanical layouts and structures
- Aeronautical experience or good understanding of cockpit processes and design
- Advanced knowledge of flight simulation software (e.g. X-Plane, MS Flight Simulator)
- Experience in programming (any language)
- Long-term availability (possible continuation into bachelor's/master's thesis project encouraged)
