Role Summary:
As part of the GE Aviation Digital Technology organization, supporting the Military Systems Operation business, the Sr. Staff Technical Product Manager - Asset Management role will be responsible for product ownership of MSO Asset Management digital products, defining the vision, roadmap and strategy for this space across all Military product lines.
Essential Responsibilities:
This role will combine the customer vision with technical feasibility to convert business needs into functional specifications/user stories and create the strategic roadmap for the suite of Asset and Fleet Management products. Additionally, this role will be responsible for owning and eventually sunsetting non-pillar tools that serve these purposes today.
In this role, you will:
  • Serve as the Technical Product Manager and DT liaison for the MSO Asset and Fleet Management products
  • Partner with the MSO organization, as well as other DT teams, to define, develop and execute the vision and roadmap for the DT products that enable digital asset management across Large Combat, Mobility, Medium Combat, Rotorcraft and Marine engine product lines, bringing together disconnected processes and solutions and laying out the foundation for a cohesive digital platform
  • Be the DT face to the customers, both internally and externally, helping to define the business strategies, enable process automation, and increase productivity
  • Support a rapidly growing, $4B+ Military business, both operationally and strategically
  • Simplify and contemporize the technology portfolio, replacing legacy solutions in accordance with the strategic product roadmap
  • Prioritize needs according to the understanding and validation of customer needs and associated outcomes, down to the user story level
  • Influence the Military business to think differently with respect to fleet management capabilities, driving cultural transformation and change management within the cross-functional teams
  • Enable process improvements within the business using digital products and capabilities
  • Reduce technical debt whenever and wherever possible
  • Ensure operational excellence of product portfolio
  • Leverage lessons learned and best practices wherever and whenever possible from the Commercial side of the Aviation business, as well as other industry players. Reuse rather than reinvent
  • Stay current with market trends, enabling technologies, and business digital strategy
  • Manage resource allocation and budget
  • Manage risk and dependencies between organizations
  • Provide strategic inputs into the financial planning process and other business activities

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 6 years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of 9 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 11 years of professional experience
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Technical Product Management or IT
    Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience
     
  • Eligibility Requirement: Must be a US Citizen. Will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job
    Desired Characteristics:
    • Proven leadership skill in both business process improvement and digital technology
    • Demonstrated experience leading and influencing across a complex, global matrix organization
    • Understanding of military business processes and working with governments is a plus, but NOT required for this role
    • Excellent written and verbal communications, effective interpersonal skills, and strong presentation abilities
    • Ability to challenge status quo and advocate for digital transformation
    • Proven analytical and problem resolution skills
    • Experience translating concepts and requirements into tangible business solutions
    • Understanding of costs and program financials
    • Experienced in CAP and change management
    • Experience and expertise of the Agile methodologies, such as Scrum and Kanban
    • Proficiency with various agile and collaboration tools like Rally, Aha, and Confluence
    • Expertise and prior experience in digital asset and fleet management processes and capabilities is a plus, but not required
