Role Summary:
The New & Derivative Advanced Programs Systems team is responsible for the preliminary design, development, vehicle integration, testing and production of military gas turbines and technologies in next generation applications.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Senior Staff Engineer for the Advanced Programs Systems Engineering team will demonstrate accountability for meeting all system level performance, operability, and controls technical requirements as related to the development and installation of engines and engine technology for future military aircraft systems. In this role, you will serve as a SPOC engineering focal responsible for coordinating with a cross functional team of engineers in support of multiple technology programs and preliminary design studies.
  • Manage technical efforts related to performance, operability, and controls
  • Lead a cross functional team of engineers across multiple departments to execute an engine development program
  • Ensure all technical requirements are being met and adhere to GE's design practices
  • Be a key technical reviewer, provide feedback, and set technical direction
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation plans on a large military program
  • Work closely with controlled title holders in performance, operability and control areas of expertise
  • Assure timely completion of work and design reviews
  • Coordinate test plans and instrumentation requests to ensure program is meeting
  • Communicate with management on technical issues
  • Provide technical guidance and promote professional growth through timely performance feedback and insights for team members

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering
  • 3 years of experience in performance, operability or controls
    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Secret Clearance


Desired Characteristics:
  • Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Knowledge of engine qualification or certification procedures and requirements
  • Recognized expert in performance, operability, or controls
  • Experience working with DoD customer and processes
  • Experience working early engine development and integration programs
  • Existing active security clearance
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience working with and presenting to customers
