Role Summary:
In this role, you will be a trusted member of the Core Leadership Team and ensure Lean transformation is a key aspect of long-term planning and overall business strategy. You will be a champion and change agent of Continuous Improvement & guide GE Aviation Production System (GEAPS) into operational & business process improvement. In addition, you will bring a seasoned & deep understanding of Lean, Six Sigma & process improvement concepts, approaches & methodology.
Essential Responsibilities:

  • Drive a GEAPS-based learning environment that focuses on building and measuring robust processes that will lead to the desired future state
  • Serve as an expert resource to the business on Lean Six Sigma philosophy, theory and application of tools/tactics; Create and execute a Lean Transformation Plan for the site
  • Serve as a change agent by stimulating, communicating and institutionalizing Lean Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Train and coach employees in the concepts, tools, and application of process improvement, Lean Six Sigma, value stream mapping, one-piece flow, Action Workouts, Kaizen, 5s, Hoshin Kanri, and other Lean tools
  • Build, train and maintain a world class lean organization capable of strengthening the usage of Lean tools & GEAPS across the site, including office processes
  • Establish and implement Gate/Cell/Team strategies, programs, projects and practices to achieve world class on-time delivery (OTD), Turn Around Time (TAT) & manufacturing inventory turns; Support the development of VSM's, identify areas of waste and action items to eliminate on an on-going basis
  • Drive measurable improvements to key business metrics (delivery, cost, quality, etc)
  • Plan and execute Lean Academies annually to achieve business and customer outcomes
  • Lead AWO's per a strategic lean transformation plan providing flexibility as business needs change
  • Ownership of Lean Pillars within OMR Framework; Facilitation of OMR framework with element owners to achieve process entitlement, continuous improvement and best in class score
  • Serve as an Aviation Operating System (AOS) Practitioner; partner with fellow ATMRO Lean Leaders to leverage best practices, cultivate new ideas and solve network challenges
  • Drive digitization in every possible segment; champion business intelligence usage
  • Generate and drive expense and manufacturing cost initiatives in partnership with Core Staff Leaders

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Significant manufacturing operations related experience in an environment that valued and practiced Lean principles and methodology
  • Prior experience working as part of a Senior/Staff Leadership team; Prior experience leading people directly and leading cross functional teams to success
  • Hungary language fluency

  • Deep knowledge of Lean methodologies, tools, and practices including visual controls, standard work, performance metrics, work center metrics, and Continuous
  • Improvement processes and be able to instruct others in these areas
  • Experience in project management, policy deployment, and digital metrics (e.g., benefits identification, reporting, and tracking)
  • Proficient at clearly defining, analyzing, and resolving problems and process weaknesses and then applying a formal root cause corrective action methodology
  • Results-based leadership style with strong impact and influencing skills
  • Ability to translate actions into operational results and business outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints
