Role Summary:
The New & Derivative Advanced Program team is responsible for the design, development, vehicle integration, and testing of military and derivative commercial gas turbines, integrated propulsion, power, and thermal management systems, and breakthrough technologies.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Program Leader for the New & Derivative Advanced Programs team will demonstrate accountability for schedule, cost, technical, customer relationship, business, and broad company objectives, particularly as related to the development and installation of engines and/or engine technology for future military aircraft systems. In this role you will be the primary engineering focal responsible for technical requirements, customer needs, and deliverables as well as reviewing status with leadership.
  • Manage scope, schedules, technical requirements, deliverables, cost of for advanced military programs
  • Lead cross functional teams of engineers across multiple departments to execute technology and engine study programs
  • Report out to senior leadership on program status
  • Coordinate technical requirements and deliverables with customers
  • Lead and provide key direction on large projects with critical business impact
  • Assure timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer / program needs
  • Facilitate communication of business information between organizations and within the work group
  • Communicate with management on financial and programmatic issues
  • Collaborate with MSO on customer requests and contract deliverables
  • Provide technical guidance and promote professional growth through timely performance feedback and insights for team members
  • Support onsite customer visits up to 4 times per year

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a program leadership role
    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):
  • Current active US Department of Defense Security Secret Clearance
  • Ability and willingness to travel for the support of onsite customer visits up to 4 times per year


Desired Characteristics:
  • Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • 2 years of experience working a flight test program
  • Knowledge of engine qualification procedures and requirements
  • Knowledge of scheduling, engineering tracking and finance reporting tools
  • Experience working with DoD customer and processes
  • Experience working early engine development and integration programs
  • Experience leading a program with earned value management processes
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience working with and ability to present to customers
