Staff Engineer - Reliability

Role Summary:
The Reliability Staff Engineer will be responsible for managing and accomplishing a broad range of reliability tasks for assigned products in a timely and accurate manner.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Execute the reliability analyses for assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements
  • Accomplish specific reliability tasks for assigned programs including analysis and reporting of fielded product reliability data, evaluation of the reliability impact of proposed design changes, mentoring of reliability practitioner candidates and accomplishment of other assigned tasks as required
  • Recommend approach to meet the reliability technical and program requirements
  • Formulate and implement plans and approaches to reliability tasks to achieve commitments yielding timely and accurate results
  • Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments
  • Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering or technical position (Including prior experience in reliability engineering or certified GE Reliability Practitioner; Experience in reliability tasks such as FMECA, field data analysis, Weibull analysis and reliability growth analysis; Familiarity with Reliasoft suite of tools)

Desired Characteristics:
  • Graduate Degree in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to guide and influence others
