Role Summary:
The Technical Support & Quality Control Specialist will work with cross functional teams to resolve technical issues challenging the assembly, repair, test and inspection operations and processes on the manufacturing shop floor. As a cross-functional role, this person will additionally be responsible for product quality review associated with the manufacturing & repair process of multiple programs.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Be responsible for the planning, direction, and coordination of all quality assurance & quality control functions for assigned product lines 
  • Ensure compliance to customer and internal requirements when making Quality decisions regarding repairs, materials, processes and suitability of manufactured or repaired products 
  • Support regulatory compliance and optimization of quality systems procedures relating to product complaint handling, adverse event reporting and product field actions through development, maintenance and improvement of documented processes 
  • Development and implementation of quality metrics to drive improvement and business results 
  • Provide leadership in the coordination of all relevant disciplines when specific problems arise to achieve effective resolution 
  • Be responsible for the administration of the quality system, including implementation and maintenance to regulatory requirements and standards such as applicable ISO standards 
  • Conduct training to quality processes as needed 
  • Monitor Test operations and Test station issues and assist in resolving problems 
  • Conduct Circuit card analysis and troubleshoot to component level in support of repair shop operations for complex failures 
  • Be responsible for the release of all assigned product line repairs which certifies suitability to the customer for flight or ground support as appropriate 
  • Complete Failure & Analysis Reports and conduct / coordinate actions necessary for the investigation of identified trends to determine root cause 
  • Direct the level of testing required for repairs relative to customer reason for return to ensure the integrity of the item upon release 
  • Research answers to technical questions posed by the Field Support Engineering team and/or by the end customer via the field team by interpreting and utilizing available systems, software, hardware, test equipment, and engineering documentation 
  • Establish and maintain specific avionics products technical history libraries 
  • Interpret Operational Flight Program (OFP) and Operational Ground Program (OGP) source code at a top level 
  • Perform technical analysis associated with hardware, software, and MIL-STD-1553 data bus malfunctions or anomalies utilizing a systems / software test station 
  • Document and communicate results of technical research and investigations

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited university or college (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in an Engineering, Electronics, Scientific or related technical discipline)
  • Minimum of 3 years in an engineering or technical discipline
    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience with military avionics systems
  • Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance standards and processes
  • Adept at troubleshooting electronics to component level
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • PC proficiency
  • Experience utilizing Lean / Six Sigma methodologies and tools
  • Knowledge / Experience relative to C-130 aircraft and the Self-Contained Navigation System
