Role Summary:
The Lead Engineer, Electronic Hardware supports a full-function production team through the manufacturing of avionic electrical equipment (generators and related controls). This role will have the opportunity to work with a team to suggest improvements to drawings and impact manufacturability of new product and existing products. The Lead Engineer will make an impact by ensuring design to cost and quality of new products being manufactured at the Vandalia Facility.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership to support engineering and manufacturing projects of new products
  • Document technical data generated by the project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of IT, engineering, scientific or other technical experience)
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering position

  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously

  • Familiar with general electronic assemblies, CCA, Power Supplier, firmware, testing and qualification
