With offices located in Fredericton and Miramichi, New Brunswick, Forest Protection Limited (FPL) has been providing aerial protection to forests through services such as fire management, pest management and aerial surveys since 1952. Forest Protection Limited is a private company funded by the New Brunswick government and a group of New Brunswick-based forestry organizations. As a leader in their industry, FPL has a team of highly trained staff and a customized fleet with a range of specialized equipment, computers and software making their aircraft unique to Canada and abroad.

Based in Fredericton, NB and reporting to the Operations Manager, the Chief Pilot of Forest Protection Limited will be responsible for the daily supervision of the pilot group and the flight operations effectiveness, through the assignment of work schedules and roster management. The Chief Pilot will assist in the development of corporate flight training programs for all pilot classifications and is responsible for the emergency preparedness and response for the pilot group. This role will assess pilot and flight operation effectiveness, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop plans for improvement. The Chief Pilot will work closely with Corporate Management and Transport Canada in order to ensure compliance with all regulations associated with 702 operations. The Chief Pilot will maintain a current and compliant information library, i.e. CARS, Flight Information Manuals, Notam, Designated Airspace Handbook, and VFR supplement, and see that the FPL Operations Manual is updated and in good standing with Transport Canada. The Chief Pilot will support the Human Resource Manager with pilot recruitment and succession planning within the pilot group.

The ideal candidate is an accomplished Commercial Pilot and has a minimum 2000 hours as Pilot in Charge. As the ideal candidate you have a demonstrated ability to lead and effectively monitor, assign, and correct personnel on their capabilities. The ideal candidate will be highly developed leader that possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills. You can effectively communicate a vision, management philosophy, and lead efficient, effective and safe operations. You are persistent, productive and dedicated to your organization and your team.
