Job Description Summary Working as part of a multi-disciplined team, the candidate will lead the electronics development activities for complex power distribution and control products across a range of programs.
The successful candidate will work with customers to understand and meet their needs. You will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems and execute objectives for self and others and have the ability to effect short term and some long-term business goals.

Job Description Essential Responsibilities
  • Lead the electronics design and development of power distribution and controller products
  • Provide technical leadership in area of expertise for other team members and be responsible for ensuring the quality of the team's work
  • Work closely with the project manager to ensure that resources are correctly identified and allocated
  • Execute design, analysis, and evaluation using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
  • Work as parts of a multi-disciplinary team, engaging with other functions across the project team as necessary
  • Document technical data consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews


Qualifications and requirements
  • Relevant Degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent level of knowledge or experience
  • Demonstrable experience of working as a technical leader in a new product introduction role.
  • Full lifecycle domain expertise
  • A strong technical aptitude, particularly in the field of analogue electronics
  • Strong problem solving and solution building skills
  • Demonstrable experience in the use of PCB CAD and circuit simulation tools
  • Demonstrable experience in defining hardware requirements and determining appropriate verification strategies
  • Ability to clearly formulate and communicate complex design concepts
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to think outside the box and create new and innovative solutions
  • A positive attitude, initiative, pro-activeness and an enthusiasm and passion for product development


Desirable characteristics
  • Familiarity with Mentor Graphics Xpedition ECAD tools
  • Experience in designing for aviation or other safety critical applications
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring junior engineers
  • Exposure to project management in a new product introduction environment
