Job Description Summary The Advanced Technology Organization is responsible for driving growth in technology by researching market and customer needs and developing the requisite technologies to meet those needs. Our team supports both military and commercial customers in land, sea, and air domains.

This ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics product development as well as project management skills. This role will deal with ambiguous and complex situations that require systems thinking and tenacity. The successful candidate will utilize lean thinking to deliver on company defined internal research & development objectives as well as to work with subject matter experts in the development of external customer proposals for new products and technologies.

Job Description
Responsibilities

• Serves as the technical leader/manager to develop a scope of work and plan
schedule and monitor engineering activities for R&D projects.
• Provide technical leadership in the areas of Proposal Management, Cost
Estimating, and Product Engineering
• Asses technology readiness level (TRL) and manufacturing readiness level
(MRL) assessments for sign off by Chief Engineers Office
• Create processes or plans when previous guidance does not exist
• Work with internal and external customers to understand product or technology
needs
• Develop and collaborate on electronics packaging technology roadmaps for
analysis tools, thermal management, manufacturing technologies, and
environmental robustness
• Assist in market and intellectual property analysis
Required Qualifications
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
• Bachelor's degree in the following: Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering,
Controls Engineering
• Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience in the development of complex
products involving the conversion or generation of electrical power such as
power converters, radar systems, generators

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree with a Bachelor's degree in the following: Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
  • Product development experience utilizing Silicon Carbide or Gallium Nitride MOSFETS
  • Military or Commercial Aviation product experience
  • Export Control Compliance Training
  • Agile Management - especially experience with guiding teams in its adoption
  • Design of Experiments
  • Teaching technical topics or processes to others


This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
