Job Description Summary We are looking for an early career mechanical design engineer to apply Finite Element Analysis to analyze structural components on the next generation products made from ceramic matrix composites. Requirements include a basic understanding of FEA and a desire to apply analytical problem solving on the most state-of-the-art material systems.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of turbine hardware.
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
  • Learn best practice in mechanical analysis and apply them to component level stress and life predictions.
  • Participate in cross-functional project and present outcomes to technical and business leaders.
  • Engage with supply chain on the industrialization of ceramic matrix composites.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience


Desired Characteristics
  • Exposure to composites, ceramics, or turbine design.
  • Experience to computer-aided design and stress analysis (ANSYS, UG NX, HyperMesh)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills


This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
