Tasks

  • Plan, install, maintain and rebuild Linux servers by operational and project requirements.
  • Analyze and solve complex issues with Linux and applications running on Linux
  • Improve and extend our infrastructure as a code environment
  • Monitor, control and optimize servers
  • Maintain secure, reliable and available IT Infrastructure
  • Standardize, automate and establish best practices for Linux installation and management
  • Help ensure Backup and Disaster Recovery
  • Maintain and enhance up-to-date documentation
  • Interface with suppliers

Requirements
  • Degree in Computer Sciences, Software Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Linux System Administration and automation skills and experience
  • Knowledge of Virtualization (VMware) and LAN
  • Experience with shell scripting or equivalent
  • Familiarity with administration, tuning, and system monitoring
  • Familiarity with Backup/Restore procedures and disaster recovery planning
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Organization, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Able to balance standardization with the flexibility to fulfil customer needs

Desirable
  • 3+ years with CentOS / RedHat Linux
  • Knowledge in the area of infrastructure as code (Puppet and Terraform)
  • Ability to implement CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab and Jenkins)
  • Experience with containerized applications (Openshift and Docker)
  • Any additional language, in particular German, is an asset
  • Experience in an Agile IT Ops environment
  • ITIL Foundation certification
