Tasks

Plan, install, maintain and rebuild Linux servers by operational and project requirements.
Analyze and solve complex issues with Linux and applications running on Linux
Improve and extend our infrastructure as a code environment
Maintain secure, reliable and available IT Infrastructure

Monitor, control and optimize servers
Standardize, automate and establish best practices for Linux installation and management
Help ensure Backup and Disaster Recovery
Maintain and enhance up to date documentation
Interface with suppliers

Requirements

Degree in Computer Sciences, Software Engineering or equivalent experience
Linux System Administration and automation skills and experience
Knowledge of Virtualization (VMware) and LAN
Experience with shell scripting or equivalent
Familiarity with administration, tuning, and system monitoring

Familiarity with Backup/Restore procedures and disaster recovery planning
Strong problem-solving skills
Organization, communication and interpersonal skills
Fluency in English (written and spoken)
Able to balance standardization with the flexibility to fulfil customer needs

Desirable

3+ years with CentOS / RedHat Linux
Knowledge in the area of infrastructure as code (Puppet and Terraform)
Ability to implement CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab and Jenkins)
Experience with containerized applications (Openshift and Docker)
Any additional language, in particular German, is an asset
Experience in an Agile IT Ops environment
ITIL Foundation certification
