Value Engineer - Controls and Accessories

Job Description
Responsibilities
- Lead the value engineering Should Cost programs to achieve product cost out objectives
- Implement design cost analysis (Should Cost) process for the controls and accessories organization delivering material and tooling cost out
- Support commercial team negotiations with development of design cost analysis (Should Cost) for legacy and NPI programs
- Develop supplier and internal manufacturing engagement strategies based on product cost out ideas utilizing Should Cost analysis and expertise
- Lead design and cost out idea generation events, plant line walks, supplier site idea generation events, bench-marking design gap analysis, design efficiency studies, alternate material substitutions, optimized manufacturing process, etc.
- Interface with suppliers, sourcing, design, and quality teams to implement cost savings
- Drive towards the yearly cost out goal as well as supporting long term C&A strategy
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or institution (OR a High school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years experience in Engineering or Manufacturing Operations)
- A minimum of 3 years in Engineering or Manufacturing Operations
