QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Also, proven ability to demonstrate:
- Metrologic inspector experience, 6 months minimal experience
- Mechanical Blueprint reading, 6 months minimal experience
- Previous Quality documentation software experience, 6 months minimal experience
- High School Diploma/ GED
Desirable Characteristics
- Working knowledge of Quality Systems procedures and requirements
- GD&T
- Programing CMM previous experience
- Previous Tip QA experience
- PR Disposition
- Precision Machining shop measurement working knowledge
- Previous AS9102/S1002/S1007 FAI experience
- Previous Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) experience
- Previous Lean Manufacturing experience
- Final inspection and receiving inspection of supplier hardware
- Two years progressive experience in manufacturing, quality, and or engineering position
- Ability to obtain manufacturing inspection certification
- Ability to work with cross functional teams to improve processes
- Proficient PC computer experience
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Tests and inspects product at various stages of the production and/or repair process
• Compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability
of products
• Selects products for test at specified stages of production or repair
• Tests for items such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical characteristics.
• Records test data using statistical quality control procedures and prepares data in graph
or chart form
• Evaluates data and writes summaries to validate or show deviations from existing
standards
• Suggests modifications of existing quality or production standards
• May calibrate standard gauges
• Uses standard shop measuring devices. This includes micrometers, verniers, 10x
Otoscope, shim stock, depth gages, plug, gages, and comparator
• Analyzes non-conforming hardware and documentation using blueprints, specifications, etc.
• Retains records and charts to identify nonconformance trends. Assists Engineering in
determining root cause of problems
• Dispositions parts for rework, re-inspections, submission to MRB, or scrap
• Communicates non-conformance trends to engineering and appropriate managers
• Assists teams and support organizations in implementing corrective actions
• Will work with all areas of the cell to coordinate, build, and submit Safety/Lean/Quality
ideas
• Reading, planning, verifying fixture calibration
• Maintains quality training requirements
• Basic housekeeping of cell (5S)
• Review, understand, and follow routers, procedures, specification, and other instructions
for completeness to perform operations
• Ensures all company paperwork is filled-out accurately
• Fully understands blueprints
• Read and understand inspection sheets
Identify revision levels
• Produce error free products
• Cross train in other areas
Completes FAI or first article inspections
• Operate and program CMM
• Work to established Lean Manufacturing guidelines
• Understand safety and machining hazards
• Work with minimal coaching in a team environment
• Will also perform other duties as assigned
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Ability to obtain customer required certifications
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to read and understand technical journals, abstracts, and mechanical drawings.
Able to accurately prepare business memos, summaries, reports, and presentations using a prescribed and/or organized format.
Effectively communicate and respond to questions from team members, coaches, and leaders.
MATHMATICAL DEVELOPMENT
Must be able to practically apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
COMPUTER SKILLS
Basic computer skills.
REASONING ABILITY
Able to interpret and apply a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, graphic, schedule, chart, or blueprint form. Able to deal with problems involving several abstract and concrete variables in a standardized situation.
