Job Description Summary This position is for an Engineering Project Manager for the Stores Management Systems product line within the New Products and Adjacencies group. You will work as the Engineering Project Manager leading the development team on multiple projects, responsible for managing scope, cost, and schedule for development projects for Military Fixed Wing, Helicopter, and UAV aircraft. In the role of Engineering Project Manager, you will ensure that the project stays within cost and schedule targets while maintaining a product line/reuse approach and positively affecting short-term and long-term business goals and objectives.

Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:

The Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for forming development teams and managing project execution throughout the development lifecycles. In the role of Engineering Project Manager, you will lead the development of various technologies through increasing levels of maturity.

Additionally, as the Engineering Project Manager, key responsibilities will include:
  • Form project teams for systems, software and hardware to support the projects.
  • Develop integrated schedules with cost and staffing demand.
  • Author Statements of Work for supplier work (as needed).
  • Lead Engineering content for gate reviews (Tollgates).
  • Participate in fact-finding meetings with customers.
  • Support / lead various management meetings and report up to Senior / Executive leadership.
  • Support / lead meetings with customers.
  • Develop / revise engineering project plans.
  • Manage scope, schedule, and cost changes within the project.
  • Monitor and report project performance, including key metrics and variances.
  • Develop and execute risk management plans.
  • Demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes.
  • Utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems.
  • Develop and execute objectives for self and others.
  • Have the ability to affect short-term and some long-term business goals.
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or development, maintaining a focus on safety and reliability.
  • Communicate with management on technical, organizational, resource, and personnel issues.
Qualifications / Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or technical field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience (Including project management).
Desired Characteristics:
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience with systems, hardware and/or software design.
  • Experience building effective teams and managing projects.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment to implement solutions that are aligned with the goals of the project across multiple sites.
  • Working knowledge of DO-178B / C.
  • Knowledge of Stores Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-1553, DO-254, MIL-STD-810, and JSSSEH.
