Lead Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description Summary In the role of Lead Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer, you will support the manufacturing and assembly of aircraft electrical power generating units. In this position you will be responsible for establishing manufacturing processes as well as lead continuous improvement and process yield efforts. You will work cross functionally with the engineering, quality and operation teams to determine root cause for product failures and establish corrective actions.

Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:

Maintain, support and improve assembly processes for electrical power products with a focus on improving first time yield.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Troubleshoot product failures to determine root cause and corrective action.
• Use production and quality data to drive and implement process improvements to reduce costs and losses.
• Drive and lead impact projects using LEAN or Six Sigma tools that result in significant process improvements.
• Lead cycle time improvements, cost of quality (COQ), and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) actions.
• Manage multiple projects by providing scheduling, resource management, budget control and EHS compliance.
• Collaborate with the design engineering team to improve product manufacturability.
• Ensure documentation for manufacturing processes, engineering designs and technical data is accurate and kept up to date.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma and 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing or operations.

• Ability to read drawings and specifications; GD&T experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
