Job Description
- Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
- Strive to improve all aspects of Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost
- Drive & lead/cycle time improvements
- Design & implement necessary tooling & fixtures for manufacturing and process improvements
- Create & maintain schedules to achieve project targets
- Develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline
- Participate & Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action activity related to concerns that arise thru the manufacturing process
- Listen to the voice on the floor, understand the problem and implement effective countermeasures & assure sustainability
- Manage projects related to manufacturing process enhancement
- Hands on problem solving & investigation approach
- Work closely with shop floor personnel
- Continuous improvement mind set
- Work closely with shop floor personnel
- Time allocation: manufacturing floor (70%), office (30%)
- Use judgment and ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks.
- May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions
- To be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills.
- Perform root cause and corrective action of product failures and defects
- Collaborate with design engineering, operations, and quality to improve manufacturability and resolve issues
- Lead projects: Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field
- Limited remote working conditions
- Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years of experience) in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical/Manufacturing Technology.
- 08 years of experience with Production Processes and Equipment
- Desired Qualifications
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and demonstrated leadership skills
- Ability to document, plan and execute improvement activities
- Cooperative learning/internship experience
- Automotive manufacturing experience
- High ownership skills with ability to work with limited supervision
- CNC experience
- PLC experience (Allen Bradley)
- Automation & robotics project lead & experience
