Job Description Summary This Engineer role is for an Advanced Military Jet Engine program as a component design engineer. This includes activities related to the design/analysis of jet engine components, with guidance, as well as program management including costing and maintaining budget/schedule. The position reports to an Engineering manager in Evendale, OH with responsibility for multiple Military engines. The team is comprised of various design disciplines with significant experience to mentor/train new employees.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of specific assigned Military jet engine components related to bearings, seals, and structural components using sound engineering principles while adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
  • Prepare and present in design reviews for specific assigned Military jet engine components
  • Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.
  • Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.
  • Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
  • Collaborates with others to solve issues.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in Engineering)
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance


Desired Characteristics
  • Existing US Government Security Clearance
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with FEA tools such as ANSYS


This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
