Job Description Summary Manage the buying process for a given set of goods. Apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Focused on execution of standard enabling activities/provision of advice subject to policy and work routines within an enabling discipline. There may be some latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing situations.

Job Description Essential Responsibilities

Within the Avio Aero's Supply Chain team and directly reporting to the Commodity Leader, the Casting lead buyer will:

Manage the sourcing process, from evaluation of requestor's requirements to Purchase Order (PO) placement
Understand the Castings Commodity needs based on the Growth PlayBook (GPB) and define SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) matrix in collaboration with Strategic Sourcing team
Manage Supplier with the aim to strength relationship with strategic suppliers and create action plan for critical suppliers, in collaboration with strategic team
Perform spent analysis for the Castings Castings commodity and with reference to the Budget and GPB goals (including deflation, costout, days to pay)
Apply cost and price analysis techniques, using available expertise from supporting organizations
Negotiate PO and purchase contracts, following applicable company and government regulations
Balance both tactical execution with strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost reduction projects
Build a strong relationship with GE Aviation Sourcing Team to collaborate and share opportunities
Work in collaboration with Supplier Quality Teams and Procurement team to meet established goal of On Time Delivery (OTD), span, delinquency and vendor recovery

In doing so, it will be mandatory for you to maintain the highest level of integrity and ethics in all dealings with supply base and internal customers.

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
Proven analytical and problem solving skills, with sound judgment and a diplomatic attitude
Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form
Ability to handle several activities simultaneously, manage multiple priorities and resolve appropriately
Professional working knowledge of SAP MRP software system
Proficient in MS Office (e.g. Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook, Word)
Highly motivated team member
Proactivity, Customer orientation, initiative, autonomy
Fluent in Italian and English
EU work permit

Desired characteristics

Knowledge of current market conditions and sources of supply
Knowledge of investment castings processes and tooling management
Previous experience in sourcing organization
Negotiation skills
Positive working attitude and proven understanding of how to be an effective service provider within an organization
Effective problem identification and solution skill
Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
Lean methods knowledge
