Job Description Summary The Platform Computing Systems (PCS) Lead Systems Engineer is responsible for the architecture, development, and support of PCS Computing Products. The PCS Lead Systems Engineer is expected to have or develop a broad and deep level of expertise that relates to the PCS Computing Products.

Essential Responsibilities:

The PCS Systems Engineer will be responsible for supporting systems engineering tasks including requirements capture, hardware / software integration, and systems level verification of avionics products. This role requires strong analytical, problem solving, written and oral communication skills. Expectations are that the PCS Systems Engineer must be self-motivated, willing to learn, detail-oriented, and able to work collaboratively with others in a process-centric environment.

In addition, the PCS Systems Engineer will:

• Communicate effectively with key stakeholders and systems engineering leadership
• Exhibit lab skills including using test equipment and developing/running verification procedures
• Develop an understanding of GE Aviation avionics computing products and technologies
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, and software engineers in a collaborative team environment

Qualifications / Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or other technical / science discipline or equivalent experience
• Minimum of two years hands-on design, implementation, integration, testing, verification, or experience involving avionics engineering systems, software engineering, hardware engineering, and/or electrical design

Desired Characteristics:

• Hands-on lab capability to handle test equipment and tools (DOORS, RCT/RDB, RACE, ACT), scripting languages (VAIS, Python, DXL, and Visual Basic), and Excel
• Familiarity with aspects of aviation and avionics systems
• Familiarity with industry standards such as SAE ARP-4754A and internal GE standards such as ENG-PRO-002
• Experience with DOORs requirements management tools and RTC defect tracking
• Experience with system verification processes, tools, and automation
• Ability to work in a cross-functional, global team environment
• Ability to engage and build positive relationships with both customers and other key stakeholders
