Position Summary:

With minimal supervision, installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers
  • Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment; connects cables and wires between machines and equipment
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cable.
  • Tests malfunctioning machinery and determines malfunction
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motors, and positions sensing devices
  • Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards
  • Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors
  • Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in the facility
  • Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment
  • Responsible for quality assurance aspects relative to the job/task performed
  • Maintains work area housekeeping and assist in department/team housekeeping efforts
  • Adheres to and follow all safety procedures, i.e., lock-out/tag-out; report safety concerns, use appropriate PPE as required, and follow all safety practices


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Electrician or electrical related maintenance
  • Minimum of 1 certificate of completion in the maintenance of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, air conditioning/refrigeration, and building maintenance
  • Willing and able to work overtime and any shift and weekends
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak the English language: interpret and follow written procedures, i.e. AWI (Aviation Work Instructions), etc., complete documentation, i.e. routers, etc., and follow verbal instructions
  • Requires the ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Operate a man lift, forklift and articulated boom lift
  • Must be proficient in repairing and maintaining machinery in operating condition
  • Have demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair/replace mechanical and electro-mechanical systems
  • Working knowledge of MS Outlook and MS Excel


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, nationals of the United States, asylees and refugees) due to access to export-controlled technology.
  • Must pass physical, background, and drug screens


Desired Characteristics:
  • Associate's degree or 2-year certificate in maintenance of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, air conditioning/refrigeration, and/or building maintenance
  • Experience using maintenance system
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills
  • Proven analytical and organizational ability
  • Proven experience and willingness to be self-directed and identify improvement processes
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively with others in a team setting
  • Follow and promote safe work practices
  • Communicate effectively with others


This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
