Job Description
Role Summary:
Aim of this role is to support design engineering activities for aeroengine components, modules, and sub-systems (Low Pressure Turbine nozzles, rotating components, and engine structures).
Essential Responsibilities:
- Support of design engineering activities by engineering simulation & analysis by basic mechanical principles, comparative studies and/or Finite Element (FEA/FEM) methods, in particular:
- FEM modeling (mesh, BC's and loads application) of engine components - Ansys, Hyper Mesh
- Performing structural FEM analysis aimed to meet life and dynamic requirements - Ansys
- Post-processing of analysis and results interpretation
- Results presentation and reporting to Hardware Owners, Senior Engineers and/or to Technical Community
- Supporting analysis and substantiation of quality notifications raised in manufacturing process
- Document technical data in reports and dedicated repositories
- Basic mechanical design, modeling, and product definition support of design engineering team
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Undergraduate (year 3/4) of Aeronautics, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering departments.
- Good English communication skills
- Good knowledge and practice of MS Office (Excel, Power Point)
- Self-motivation, open for new challenges and learning, team player
Desired Characteristics:
- Strongly interested in technical career growth
- Basic understanding of engine gas turbine principles
- Fundamental knowledge of mechanical components principles (material durability, static & dynamic mechanical phenomena)
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials application in aviation industry
- Basic knowledge of Finite Element Method with practical skills in Ansys or Hyper Mesh
- Basic knowledge of 2d/3d modelling (NX - Unigraphics)
- Fundamental skills in technical drawings and engineering documentation interpretation
