Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Execute the H2 combustion aero design/analysis/evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards and product/program requirements following best practices and standard lean 6-sigma approaches.
- Lead the development, analysis, and testing of low-emission H2 combustor designs focused on aero and thermo-acoustics.
- Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules, and contract commitments.
- Interact with co-workers within GE combustion community and external partners to establish best practices and technical achievements.
- Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments at all senior leadership levels.
- Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks.
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
- Lead national/European research projects supporting the development of advanced H2 combustion technologies for future applications.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- MS in combustion aero with focus on H2, emissions and aeroacoustics.
- At least 5 years industrial experience in H2 combustion aero for gas turbine applications, in particular on emissions, measuring/testing and design modifications to meet customer and regulators requirements.
- Working knowledge of current and oncoming aero-engine emission certification requirements (EASA/FAA), procedures and application to latest aero engine products.
- Proven track record of conceiving, designing, carrying out and interpreting results of aero engine or gas turbine combustion aero designs, in particular for emissions.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to communicate at a variety of levels, from detailed design reviews to high-level leadership reviews.
- Strong leadership skills capable of leading technical teams to execute assigned projects meeting deliverables on time and on budget.
- Expert in CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) including 3D LES, 3D FEM and 1D network codes.
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise of combustion fundamentals, combustor aero design, combustor testing, combustion dynamics and their application to new aero engine concepts and in-service products.
- Effective in contributing to a cross-functional teamwork environment.
