Advanced Military Systems Staff Engineer

Job Description Summary The Advanced Military Systems Staff Engineer will report to the Advanced Programs Engineering Leader and be responsible for facilitating and leading teams to invent, design, develop, integrate, test, and support advanced technologies and propulsion systems.

Job Description
As an Advanced Military Systems Staff Engineer you will:

• Work with internal experts, customers, and partners to define system and subsystem-level requirements
• Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical and program requirements, schedules, and contract commitments
• Drive validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level testing
• Manage interfaces between components and execution organizations
• Manage technical , cost, and schedule execution using Integrated Master Schedules and Earned Value Management
• Ensure product safety and quality by applying robust processes for inspections, spec verification and deviation management
• Drive capability / schedule / cost / risk trades within the teams designing the components
• Develop standard work, operating metrics, and supporting analyses to drive execution and corrective actions
• Assure proper documentation of technical data generated consistent with engineering policies and procedures
• Manage the overall product configuration and configuration control system

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics from an accredited college or university
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a relevant engineering position
• Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance at the Secret level or higher

Desired Characteristics:

• Experience with some of the following: engine/aircraft integration, engine component/systems design, engine performance, engine controls, engine validation/test, vehicle power/thermal systems
• Demonstrated ability to lead by influence
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Experience working with DoD customer and processes
• Active DoD Security Clearance at the Secret level or higher
• Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics from an accredited university or college
• Experience working in DoD EVM projects

• Due to security requirements this position requires a full-time in the office schedule
