Job Description Summary The Senior Leader Lean Transformation position is tied directly to Aviation's Hoshin Kanri breakthrough elements and a critical position inside the Lean organization that is expected to drive continuous improvement by eliminating waste via level loading demand and implementing Pull across the Aviation Supply Chain. This position will also accelerate improvements with Lean across production operations including forecasting, planning, scheduling, fulfillment, sourcing, balancing manufacturing load and on time delivery to our customers. The position will be accountable for developing and institutionalizing a transformative approach to demand planning as well as the supply of components to our customers. The position will collaborate across the organization to redefine how the demand signals flow and establish a replenishment process utilizing lean principles which improves material availability and On-time delivery while reducing excess inventory from the system.

Job Description
Essential Responsibilities

As the Pull Lean Transformation Leader, you will:
  • Identify and assemble a cross-functional team that can represent the processes of demand planning, materials planning, sourcing, and execution with the ability to translate into future state
  • Develop and launch level-loading and pull strategies with the ability to iterate for improvement by learning and scaling into future state design
  • Assist in developing the roadmap and playbook to define the demand profile, planning and sourcing process level loading with the ability to scale across various sourcing commodities and internal component shops
  • Manage the breakthrough action planning and project management, keeping all tasks on track and driving proactive countermeasures to sustain improvement metrics.
  • Develop Pull business KPI's and be accountable for business impact of Pull and level loading with regards to delivery and inventory
  • Develop strategy for the organizational structure which supports Pull and level loading
  • Implement Pull as it relates to outside suppliers into sourcing contracts and supplier performance management
  • Establish and scale to future state by articulating and implementing standard work around key principles in the following areas:
    • Forecasting and Planning
    • Sourcing & Supplier Engagement
    • Warehouse Inventory level management
    • Kanban / Supermarkets management
    • Fulfillment and On time Delivery management
  • Ensure the alignment of business stakeholders as it relates to S&OP once level-loading a pull are implemented


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration from an accredited university or college
  • At least 5 years of experience in leading supply chain, engineering or product management teams driving lean culture and operational transformation


Desired Characteristics
  • Materials experience including S&IOP and demonstrated capability in reducing inventory and increasing delivery through lean transformation.
  • Experience driving enterprise-wide transformation preferably in a major turn-around. The ideal candidate has been through complex change and tough situations; bringing a will to win with strong followership.
  • Lean practitioner, capable of facilitating kaizen events and coaching the core tools such as Daily Visual Management, structured Problem Solving, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Transactional Process Improvement and Kanban.
  • Proven to be effective driving outcomes in large, matrixed organizations - understands how to navigate geographies, cultures, relationships, etc. Can drive work around the world because they are accountable, trustworthy, credible, committed, and intellectually agile.
  • Change agent, able to make the case for lean and demonstrate immediate impact.
  • Highly collaborative person, comfortable with conflict and debate normally associated with change.
  • Ability to solicit interest and champion unique approaches / original solutions and formulate those ideas into transactional strategy
  • Ability to present ideas effectively and concisely, both written and verbal, to all levels of the organization both internally and externally.
  • Strategic and critical thinker with the ability to influence others without authority, even those with conflicting priorities balancing thought leadership / and read across with strong results-orientation
  • Proven ability to work horizontally across GE and build / maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Skilled communicator capable of influencing a wide audience via a balanced and humble approach
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of materials management practices using lean tools and methodo
