Tool & Equipment Engineer

The successful candidate will be part of our experienced and highly engaged Production Support team in Engine Services. He/she will become the expert in equipment maintenance, repair and replacement.
Being responsible for a defined process area in our engine shop at Zurich Airport will allow to build up specialized know-how for specific fields and respective equipment. An existing job rotation with a 3 years' interval will assure broad and deep know how across several MRO processes over time.
This function is adding value by improving process efficiency, both from the technological perspective as well as with classical LEAN tools.
Your tasks
  • Assure availability of facilities, machines, and tools in the assigned field of our Engine MRO process. "Keep the line running" in close cooperation with the respective departments
  • Define and technically specify new equipment within our purchasing process, this includes larger, interdisciplinary investments like machine retrofitting and facility upgrades
  • Create business cases for investment decisions
  • Design and modify special purpose equipment. This includes working in Autodesk Fusion 360, 3D scanning and printing
  • Administer our technical documentation by using LEAN tools in order to assure compliance with extensive aviation regulations. This includes to create:
    • Calibration instructions
    • Technical templates (Process Parameter Sheets, Machine setup instructions etc.)
    • TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) Dossiers
    • Tool and Test Equipment equivalency documentations acc. Arinc 668 standard
    • Administer our SAP equipment database
  • Enable our Safety and Quality management systems as expert in Root Cause Analysis teams
  • Live the hands-on approach by executing simple mechanical and manufacturing tasks yourself
  • Provide administration and supervision for our external partners when they are on site
Your profile
  • Hands-on, smart working and pragmatic personality, who performs best in small dynamic team environments.
  • Technical HF required; FH desired.
    4+ years of working experience in Maintenance Engineering can be considered equivalent to these academical degrees.
  • Fluent in German (Level C1), and English (Level B2)
  • Electric, pneumatic, and mechanical engineering skills
    • Read, understand, and apply schematics
    • Troubleshoot by analytic exclusion of causes (Technical RCA)
    • Develop solutions for repair, maintenance, and improvement
