Job Description Summary The Full-Stack Software Developer will be a member of a team implementing PC-based software applications that support configuration and usage of avionics products, e.g., Vehicle Health Data Management Systems and Flight Voice/Data Recorders. This role is focused on software development, integration, and verification. Solutions developed by this role are critical to successful delivery of avionics products that meet customer aircraft operation requirements.

Job Description
  • Roles and Responsibilities
    • Engage with a technical mentor to accelerate product and domain expertise.
    • Work as a member of a team under direction of a technical lead to implement an agile-based life cycle; contribute task status and results that are well-organized and clearly described in an issue/task tracking system.
    • Provide full-stack support of existing applications using both modern and legacy technologies.
    • Develop enhancements and new capabilities by working with other software engineers to implement systems/software requirements.
    • Develop test cases and test procedures in coordination with systems and software requirements authors and software developers.
    • Develop test procedures that demonstrate correct and complete implementation, both manual test procedures and test scripts that automate test procedures.
    • Execute test procedures in both a lab and desktop environment as applicable.
    • Integrate automated test scripts into a continuous integration suite enabling continuous integration of daily software updates and consistent product stability.
    • Develop ability to diagnose continuous integration and verification results and determine a first response to defects as they are encountered.
    • Document defects in problem reporting system and collaborate with other team members to reproduce and fix defects.
    • Actively support continuous improvement of software development processes and applications
    • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments, both to team members and to leadership
  • Required Qualifications
    • Completion of one of the following degrees:
      • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in the field of Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
      • Associates degree from an accredited university or college in the field of Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field along with relevant experience.
  • Desired Characteristics
    • Enthusiasm for PC-based software development and application on aviation/avionics products
    • Inquisitive and keen to grow, learn new skills, and share knowledge
    • Good communication, organizational, and time management skills
    • Can-do attitude with motivation to be part of a successful, high-performing team
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in an engineering or IT position
    • General web development experience
    • Software implementation experience including use of
      • Java, Maven, Eclipse (or similar integrated development environment)
      • JavaScript & AngularJS or another JavaScript framework
      • C++, C#, Microsoft Visual Studio, Python
      • Git/GitHub or another source code management tool
    • Familiarity with Jenkins automation server and continuous integration concepts
    • Prior experience designing, writing, automating, and executing software tests, including JUnit and Robot Framework
