Acting as the focal point for Health & Safety, the General Manager - Health & Safety provides strategic guidance to senior management, helping to shape and influence decisions. You will manage the Health & Safety Team, supporting development and maintaining a high level of performance. You will formulate and develop the Health & Safety policy and plan, providing insight into significant risks relating to UK and overseas operations. The General Manager - Health & Safety ensures all legislative requirements are met and that all risks are identified and effective mitigation's established, highlighting unacceptable risks to senior Management. You will also be actively involved in identifying trends, providing appropriate Health & Safety Training, where required.
The successful candidate will be an experienced Health & Safety Manager with a formal qualification - NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent. You will have proven experienceof Safety Management Systems, preferably within an Airline environment. Above all, you will have excellent leadership and management skills, the ability to drive new initiatives and effectively negotiate at a senior level. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach are essential to the success of this role.
