The primary purpose of this role is to be accountable for managing all the operations and logistics relating to getting product on-board, including the management and quality assurance of third-party operations and the logistics. This also includes the continuous identification of synergies and cost savings initiatives across the supply chain. Leading the Inflight Services vision and strategic direction to achieve where relevant, standardised operations, suppliers and service across the TUI Airlines will be a core deliverable within your role.
This role will be accountable for building, managing and developing the Inflight Supply chain team, including the management of spend and budget.

This role can be based in either our Luton, Amsterdam, Brussels, Hannover or Stockholm office.
What you will be doing
As Head of Inflight Supply Chain you will be accountable for the management and leadership of the Inflight Supply Chain team, including all aspects of line management, people development and employee engagement. You will develop and implement the strategy and plans for the team and proactively seek to drive to improvement opportunities across the department. Your team requires relentless operational focus, ensuring we deliver to our agreed SLAs, achieve operational excellence, continuous improvement and adhere to all compliance, regulatory and audit requirements.
You are ultimately accountable for getting the required Inflight product on-board, managing the operations and logistics of the third parties. Working closely with the local responsible teams, you will design and deliver the locally defined Inflight supply delivery and make sure they it can be implemented. You will ensure that aircraft provisioning is achieved to specification and on time to support the cabin services team to deliver the customer experience as defined. You are accountable for delivering the last minute ops activities (ACMI) relating to Inflight Supply Chain.
You will be accountable for managing supplier performance and will effectively manage third party contracted services, whilst maximising contract value and CSQ scores.
A fundamental part of your role will be to define and lead the strategic direction; leading Inflight Services to become the centre of excellence within your field. Supplier rationalisation, catering last mile logistics and handling, stock ownership and warehousing being some of the focus areas.
Working closely with the Procurement function you will have responsibility for working on all contract requirements and specifications, seeking new opportunities for supplier rationalisation, new innovation for cost reduction and cost transparency. This is turn will allow you to analyse and influence cost improvements with suppliers and other parts of the organisation.
The Head of Inflight Supply Chain will be accountable for designing and implementing a continuous improvement and quality control process which ensures that third parties deliver the services up to standard. You will constantly analyse the Inflight Supply Chain and seek out future improvement initiatives.
What we are looking for
Proven track record from a logistics background, with experience in Airline and Catering at a senior level
Ability to operate within a pan-European matrix airline structure, with multiple customers and stakeholders across a range of source markets
Proven financial acumen to prepare and control budgets
A skilled communicator with the proven ability to influence, partner with senior leaders, develop a strong network of contacts throughout the industry and gain support and commitment from line managers and employees across the business
Proven ability to employ analytical tools to improve performance
Ability to think commercially and strategically whilst ensuring full regulatory compliance is achieved and maintained
A self-motivated leader who takes the initiative and works collaboratively with a track record of motivating and developing culturally diverse teams
A logical thinker with the ability to generate ideas and alternatives
Demonstrable ability to clearly articulate vision, strategy, concepts and arguments verbally and in written documentation
This role requires strong business English (written & spoken) and will involve regular travel across Europe.
