Reporting to the Head of Operations Finance, the Senior Manager for Fuel and Disruption is a key role within the team and provides complete financial ownership for all fuel and disruption costs, including management of 2 direct reports, to support and deliver the activities under the leadership of this role. This role also sits within the wider Operations Management Team and is a key business partnering role.
The Purpose of this role is to be the lead finance contact for fuel and disruption costs and provide complete financial management for these areas.
The key responsibilities are as follows.
Provides a true Business Partner framework for Fuel and Disruption ensuring that the business owners are supported with the right insight and information at all times. Strong business partnering with cross functional stakeholders including wider finance team, Operations & commercial teams to ensure seamless communication and integrity of results and forecasts. This role is a sounding board, counsel and confidant for those who look after fuel and disruption as well as the Operational leadership team responsible for each area of the business.
Strategy and Business Performance:
Provide monthly detailed analysis and insight into the costs which can be used to drive business performance and improve the cost base. Develops and delivers presentations to senior executives regarding business performance and metrics that impact business outcomes. Detailed understanding of EU261 legislation and continuous awareness around any market/trend changes to ensure accuracy. Take ownership of projects / work with a specific underlying issue across the Finance team to generate results. Report regularly and effectively on performance against project goals.
Financial Accounting and Control:
Ensuring the financial accuracy of the Group and entity Balance sheet for all areas of responsibility; including the timely production and review of all balance sheet reconciliations and journals in accordance with easyJet accounting policies. Producing and owning quality monthly reporting on variances; variance analysis to budget, forecast and prior year; identifying key cost differences and drivers to provide insight. Supervise the input of new airports rates and ensure any change in fuel suppliers and commodities are immediately captured to be able to account for these correctly.
People Leadership, Relationships and Influence
As a member of the Core Finance team, the Senior Finance Manager Fuel & Disruption has responsibility for providing Leadership as part of the Operations Finance team. In addition, they will build and lead a high-performing team who are focussed on providing subject matter expertise to a diverse and demanding set of stakeholders.
