Non-flying Synthetic Flight Instructor (SFI)

Ryanair, Europe's favourite airline have a unique opportunity Non-Flying Flight Instructors (SFI) to join our training department at one of our ATO locations throughout Europe.

We currently have exciting opportunities for Synthetic Flight Instructors within our industry recognised Flight Training Department.
Deployed at Ryanair's East Midlands, Stansted Training Centre in the UK, Bergamo in Italy, or other Ryanair ATO locations you will be delivering the highest quality of both classroom and simulator instruction to new entry and existing pilots. This will be a combination of Boeing 737 Type Rating Training within our ATO and airline recurrent training.
These are non-flying contract positions with outstanding remuneration and lifestyle opportunities. In addition to the daily remuneration rate, positioning flights and accommodation will also be provided whilst travelling to conduct the rostered duty. The role would be particularly suited to pilots from all over Europe who no longer hold a valid medical or who have recently retired from airline operations.
**Please note that this a non-flying position** The successful candidates must be highly motivated and dedicated to providing excellent training. Instructors will need to be able to adapt to a wide range of student experience levels and use their initiative to resolve issues that may while completing their duties.
Strong verbal communication skills are essential, and the candidate must have excellent knowledge of CRM, aircraft systems and the importance of SOPs.
Principal Duties
Simulator Duties:
- MCC training.
- Initial Type Rating training.
- Command Upgrade training.
- New entry pilot training (Ryanair conversion course for experienced pilots).
- Recurrent training for Ryanair pilots.
- Delivering scheduled ground school training duties (New Entry Pilot Training, Command Upgrade, Recurrent Training etc.).
- Conducting Aircraft Performance Training.
- Practical training sessions (Fire Training, Emergency Exit, Aircraft Doors etc.)
- Review and update of training content
Theoretical Training:
- Delivering scheduled ground school training duties (New Entry Pilot Training, Command Upgrade, Recurrent Training etc.).
- Conducting Aircraft Performance Training.
- Practical training sessions (Fire Training, Emergency Exit, Aircraft Doors etc.)
- Review and update of training content
Requirements
Essential requirements
- Hold or have held an EASA Part-FCL CPL(A) or ATPL(A)
- Hold or have held a Boeing Apply-900 Type Rating
- (Applicants who do not hold / have not held a 737 (300-900) type rating will be considered on a case by case basis.)
- No valid medical required
- 1500 hours Multi-Pilot Aeroplane experience within an airline environment
- English Minimum ICAO Level 6
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Valid EU / EEA Passport with the unrestricted right to live and work in the EU
Desirable Requirements
- Operational experience on B Apply-900
- Previous Instructional Experience as an SFI, TRI or Line Training Captain
Candidates must possess all the essential requirements listed above. Further training and qualifications, such as SFI certificates and / or Type Ratings, will be provided for successful candidates if required.
