Greater London, England
When it comes to innovation and achievement there are few organisations with a better track record. Join us and you'll be able to play a big part in the success of our highly successful, fast-paced business that opens up Europe so people can exercise their get-up-and-go. With over 300 aircraft flying over 1000 routes to more than 30 countries, we're the UK's largest airline, the second largest in Europe and the tenth largest in the world. Flying over 90 million passengers a year, we employ over 13,000 people. Its big-scale stuff and we're still growing.
What is the role?
The Pre-Tactical Flight Planner will be an integral part of the new Pre-Tactical Flight Planning function within the Operations Control Centre (OCC) reporting into the Flight Planning Manager. The Pre-Tactical Flight Planner will work closely with the OCC Flight Planning Team, the in house OCC Met Office Weather Forecaster and the Navigation Team within Flight Operations to assess potential operational disruption from a flight planning perspective and recommend actions in order to minimise disruption to the operation.
You`ll work closely with the Navigation Team within Flight Operations to reduce the overall error rate and you`ll analyse, correct and report flight plan errors in terms of aborted calculations / IFPS rejected flight plans. As part of the role you`ll ensure that our passengers are flown on a network that is deemed to be safe, efficient, consistent and to the highest possible service standard (lowest possible disruption) in relation to the company business model.
