This is an excellent opportinty for a mechanical designer to join a growing and personal Aviation company based in the beautiful surrondings of Gloucestershire.


Our client is one of the leading emergency services aerospace companies providing all aspects of air support to emergency services both in the UK and overseas. Following the recent addition to their fleet they are looking to expand their Design team. You will be fully involved with designing interior modifications and enhancements to air ambulance helicopters and special mission aircraft.



Duties & Responsibilities:



As Mechanical Design Engineer your responsibilities will include:



* Together with the Senior Mechanical Designer, establish overall concept, design and produce detailed drawings for all aspects of aircraft modifications with emphasis on meeting customer requirements, quality and timescales.
* Check mechanical and structural drawings produced by other designers as required.
* Compilation of reports and compliance documents to demonstrate compliance with applicable airworthiness requirements.
* Maintain close and effective liaison between the mechanical and systems design teams.
* Shop floor liaison with regard to manufacturing and installation relating to mechanical design.
* Observe compliance with the requirements of the Companys Design Office Handbook and other Company design and drawing standards.

Qualifications:




* Degree or HND/C in an aeronautical/mechanical engineering or related discipline.
* Design report writing experience is essential
* A solid background in aircraft design, ideally aircraft interiors.
* Apprenticeship or shop-floor experience in an aviation environment desirable but not essential.
* Computer literate, especially CAD (AutoCAD and SolidWorks 3D).
* The ability to take a global view of each task and to recognise the broader implications of any design decision.
* Good organisational skills.
* A willingness to interact with people.
