The Quality Engineer reports directly to the Audit Delivery Manager within Safety, Compliance & AOC is responsible for developing, planning and conducting audits and providing regulatory support and guidance functions within both Engineering & Maintenance (E&M) and other operational areas throughout the airlines network as required. This key influential role also supports the airline Quality Assurance Programmes and Safety Management System providing valuable oversight in accordance with the requirements of EASA Part-M, Part-145, Part-147 and Part-21J.
What you will be doing
The Thomson Airways Safety, Compliance & AOC department is looking for a highly motivated individual that enjoys working in a diverse and complex environment, has the ability to learn quickly and welcomes the opportunity to interact with a broad spectrum of people to join their dynamic team based at the head office in Luton. The Quality Engineer reports directly to the Audit Delivery Manager for Compliance & Quality assurance and is responsible for planning, developing and conducting audits as well as providing regulatory support and guidance to functions within both Engineering & Maintenance and other operational areas throughout the company. This is both a key and influential role which supports the airline Compliance Monitoring & Quality Assurance Programmes and Safety Management System providing valuable oversight in accordance with the requirements of EASA Part-M, Part-145, Part-147 and Part-21J. The role holder will audit engineering and maintenance departments both within Thomson Airways, the TUI Group and contracted suppliers within the UK and overseas. As well as leading maintenance/engineering audits you will also conduct audits on ground handling, fuel supply, de-icing and further operational activities associated with environmental management, health & safety and occupational risk management. Further aspects of the role include maintaining an effective working relationship with regulatory authorities and supporting the principle of ‘self-auditing’ across the airline organisation, promoting a culture of robust internal regulation.
What we are looking for
A current Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance Engineers licence covering large modern transport aircraft (or relevant Engineering Degree) Relevant aircraft engineering experience Either possess a recognised Lead Auditor qualification or have the ability to work towards achieving this Effective working knowledge of EASA Part M, Part-145, Part-147, Part-66 & Part 21JAbility and willingness to travel throughout the UK and overseasAbility to hold a full UK airport airside passProven track record in building strong working relationships with customers (internal & external)
